The Story of the Name, Qrafter

Ever since I published Qrafter on the App Store, its name has created some confusion. So here's the story behind it.

When I first set out to build a QR Code app, I wanted a name that wasn't generic — something clearly connected to QR Codes. The app was going to both create and scan QR Codes, so I started playing with the word "create." Alternatives like "Qrusher" or "Qreate" didn't sound right. Then I tried "craft" — which became "qraft" — and from there, Qrafter was born.

A common misconception is that the name comes from "QR-after," and some people pronounce it that way, but that's not the case. It comes from the ability to "craft" — or "qraft" if you like — QR Codes while at the same time scanning them.
